Urgent COVID-19 quantitative and qualitative data collection in Ghana and Togo – supporting pandemic planning and response

This project focuses on pandemic response and preparedness for future outbreaks.

It collects community-based primary data on relevant symptoms of COVID-19, and surveys on public knowledge and behavior regarding respiratory infectious diseases, hand hygiene, and social distancing in Ghana.

Results will be disseminated in real time to policy makers in Ghana and Togo to support rapid national decision-making.

The methods and aggregated results will be freely available for review by other countries.

Ethical approval will be sought from the University of Southampton and the Ghana Health Service.
